“Negotiated Fees” For Complex And GM Releases

Application fees for new, non-GM organisms are to be cut in half to $16,875 under proposed new fee structures posted on the Environmental Risk Management Authority’s website for public comment. However, applications for new genetically modified organisms will in future be charged on a negotiated fee basis, rather than the current fixed fee, assuming the recommendations are implemented. Numerous other changes for ERMA fees – both up and down – are detailed in the proposals, available on . Submissions are due by May 28, for intended implementation on July 1.
